King's Castle Ministries in El Salvador will soon be receiving a bus donated to provide safe transportation for its volunteers who provide aid and support to the people of El Salvador. The country has a large percentage of population that is under-nourished and the general health is below acceptable standards.
King's Castle Ministries aims to improve the health and well being of the community through programs to help the malnourished and give the appropriate care for those in need of medical attention. All this while providing an alternative to the violence in the area by encouraging youth through service, faith, and leadership.
The bus, donated by friends of Joe Hughes, will be receiving help from Project S.A.V.E of Chico, CA with a donation of dental chairs and other medical equipment to assist the group with their medical outreach. Since its inception in 1996, Project SAVE has collected, stored, inventoried, loaded, and shipped more than 130 20-ft containers of recycled medical, dental, and other supplies to countries and people in need around the world, as well as to many local individuals, families and organizations.
Joe Hughes and Giovanni Melara (of Contagious Motorsports Chico) are volunteering to drive the vehicle over 3,500 miles to El Salvador in January 2015. Nor-Cal Vans is assisting the project by preparing and servicing the bus for the long drive.
